The 2026 AFL Season at a Glance
The 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season is the 130th season of the competition and runs from 5 March to 26 September 2026, with all 18 clubs playing a 23-match home-and-away campaign spread across 25 rounds. The biggest structural change in 2026 is a five-week finals series featuring the top ten clubs for the first time, replacing the old top-eight system. That means more teams stay alive longer, more sudden-death finals, and — from a punter's perspective — more markets and more chances to find value late in the year.
Gather Round returned to South Australia from 9–12 April 2026, with all nine Round 5 matches played across Adelaide Oval, the Barossa and Norwood, and South Australia has already locked the event in for a further three years.
